NextGen Flag Football Rules
1Game Format
- • 5v5 format
- • 2 coaches per team
- • No contact
2Starting Play
- • Ball starts at midfield
- • Each possession begins with a snap
3Downs
- • 4 downs to cross midfield
- • 4 downs to score
4Scoring
- • Touchdown = 6 points
- • Extra point (5 yd): Run = 1 | Pass = 2
5Defense
- • No blitzing
- • Must be 2 yards off line of scrimmage
- • No contact
6Equipment
- • Flag belts
- • Team shirt
- • Cleats (no metal cleats)
7Overtime
- • Each team gets 4 downs from the 15-yard line
8Game Time Rules
- • General football rules apply: holding, pass interference, false start, offsides, etc.
